This is a gathering place for the descendants of Joel Hills Johnson to share and enjoy the rich heritage of this family.

Every year on the Saturday closest to the 24th of July, the Joel Hills Johnson Family Organization sponsors a hike of Ensign Peak, to commemorate the anniversary of the day on July 26th 1847 that the leaders of the Church hiked to Ensign Peak and waved banners. This incident was the inspiration that led Joel Hills Johnson to write the words to the song, "High On The Mountain Top".
